I found out the hard way that there are people in this world who do not want their children’s photos online. Anywhere. Like, at all. So I wrote this piece, which is the lead story in the Style section of the Times this Sunday. Turns out it’s a huge topic fueled by a lot of misinformation on both sides. (Spoiler: Pedophiles are not coming for your kid because they saw him on Flickr. That said, no one wants to see your kid learn to use the potty.) Not a fun one to report, but hopefully useful to parents. And a tip: Regardless of the actual danger, unless you want to seriously piss off Little Frankie’s parents, check with them before you post his picture on Facebook. Trust me on this.
