When I heard that Fantasia had attempted suicide, I assumed our date was off. But oh no! Not only did she still want to be profiled for the Times, she wanted to talk about her troubles, in detail – just not in the bar, you know, where people could hear. So we retreated to the back of her parked SUV and chatted for about 45 minutes, just the two of us. She’s a very sweet girl with an incredible talent. Let’s hope she’s feeling better.
